The room is big enough that you can easily fit two seating areas. So I gave you a daybed that you can sit on and face either direction. I didn't want to completely block off the room near the fireplace with furniture though, since it seems like a main thoroughfare. I thought the two blue chairs placed against the walls would give the impression of a seating area without blocking the walkway. Also you can always pull them away from the wall for a party, etc. If you don't like the idea of the daybed I would buy two of the sofas and have them facing each other.
On the wall with the octagon, I would put your existing dresser (without the TV). And on the big tall wall, in between the bookcases I think a gallery wall would be gorgeous. In this seating area you can keep your existing rug. I've also added another rug for the other seating area to help define the other space.
Hang the blue canvas art you already own on the wall above your existing console and move the pictures of your kids to run vertically down the wall between the fireplace and the doorway near it (perfect fit there).
